CONSTRUCTION

MATERIALS

-CARBON FIBER

Uses carbon fiber. Carbon fiber’s greatest advantage is its high strength and low weight.
It is extremely lightweight, with a specific gravity of 1.8. This is roughly a quarter of that of iron (7.8), and lower than those of aluminum and fiberglass (2.7 and 2.5, respectively). Further, carbon fiber is extremely strong, and has an excellent elastic modulus. The specific strength of carbon fiber, obtained by dividing the tensile strength by the specific gravity, is about ten times that of iron, while the specific modulus, obtained by dividing the tensile elasticity by the specific gravity, is about seven times that of iron.

-PRE-PREG CARBON FIBER

The advantage of “Pre-preg carbon fiber” Flux snowboards are developed with importance placed on length-wise and width-wise flexion balance. To express and feel board rigidity with good balance, we have derived and implemented the optimum angle to use when forming pre-preg carbon. With pre-preg incorporating carbon fiber with a +α° wood fiber direction, our boards offer the perfect amount of torsion and flex.

-HONEYCOMB INLAY

We utilize a lightweight and strong honeycomb material that allows free control of weight balance without compromising on rigidity.

-WOOD CORE

We have adopted a special wood core which features carbon stringer and titanal sandwiched between poplar wood and paulownia wood, each with their own specific gravity. Doing this has allowed us to achieve different purposes in a combination that takes weight balance into consideration.

CAMBER LINE

-PRO CAMBER

A high camber that enables powerful riding, creating strong board resistance.

-BRIDGE CAMBER

A camber that improves performance and board resistance by keeping the arch shape of the camber straight between the rider’s stance, keeping the snow contact length shorter than the effective edge length.

-DOUBLE CAMBER

Rocker-shaped base where the widest points of the board do not come into contact with snow. A camber where the flat area between the rider’s feet lends itself to both stability and performance.

-SMOOTH CAMBER

A freeride camber, synced with the board’s side curves for carving out the lines you desire.

-RACE CAMBER

Created in recognition of the fact that “turning doesn’t equal deceleration,” a camber for giving direction to turn resistance and converting it to acceleration.

-SUPPLE CAMBER

A low camber with excellent power transfer and performance, even with light weight riders.

BASEMATERIAL

-COMPLETELY SINTERED BASE

We do not use extruded bases due to the clear difference felt on Japanese slopes. As a sole that is too hard will be difficult to handle, we have adopted a sintered manufacturing material with a molecular weight that “slides well and is easy to maintain.” We also use a graphite insertion to suppress static electricity.
